About

HIROKI FUKUI

Sunday artist based in Hokkaido, Japan.

Drawn to the quiet presence of familiar landscapes and trees, I have centered my work on preserving the memory of disappearing scenery.
I currently balance my work as a full-time company employee with the quiet practice of a Sunday artist, creating and exhibiting under the name “Atelier Vector.” I approach painting from a calm, observant perspective—recording landscapes and preserving the traces of memory they hold.

In recent years, my focus has turned to the redevelopment and loss of landscapes in my hometown— creating “paintings that protect memory.” Through a personal approach and touch, I depict the traces and atmosphere of places marked by time and quietly fading away.
